Pensacola Children’s Chorus

First Presbyterian Church has supported the Pensacola Children’s Chorus since its beginning. “Showtime,” a PCC staple production, was first held in 1991 at the Noonan Center at First Presbyterian Church. A second Showtime, entitled “Music is Magic,” was held at Pensacola’s historic Saenger Theater during the 1992-1993 season. At the end of the season, the Pensacola Symphony Children’s Choir became officially incorporated by the State of Florida. In 1994, the organization separated from the Symphony, formally establishing the Pensacola Children’s Chorus, a not-for-profit corporation, with Susan and Allen Pote serving as Founding Artistic Directors. That same season, Christmas on the Coast was born and quickly established itself as a must-see local tradition.

The chorus continued to grow, now boasting three choirs and more than 200 students. In 1997, PCC moved into a new home at the Margaret Moore Nickelsen Center on the campus of First Presbyterian Church in downtown Pensacola, and still calls the center home today.
